Indulge in Locally-Owned Wedding Cake Bakery Delights
It all started years ago with Beverly. In college she received a Bachelors of Science in Home Economics. Beverly's mother, an art teacher, instilled in her an appreciation of art. She taught Beverly, then later her daughters, with the concepts of art; perspective, balance and the color palette. Often we refer to cake designs as edible works of art, because to us that is what we are creating. After college Beverly chose to raise a family. She used her talents to make creative birthday cakes for her family and friends. As her children grew, she taught Wilton cake decorating classes for several years.
Her daughter Dorothy discovered the love for baking and designing as well. She furthered her knowledge by completing her studies in the pastry field at the York Technical Institute. There she was able to work under very knowledgeable chefs, including world renown Olympian Pastry Chef Susan Notter. Dorothy now teaches classes at Nebin's in Winchester, VA.
